Bouchard Finlayson Galpin Peak Pinot Noir 2011

Perhaps best described as most typically Pinot Noir like in flavor as previous vintages which could have been defined as more dark and robust. A beautiful wine, deftly balanced with lots of red berry fruit character and pretty floral aromas.

ageing : Its inherent balance and fruity personality promises the development of added flavor dimensions over a period of ageing!

in the vineyard : Galpin Peak Pinot Noir has its origin in the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley and represents the best that the Cape can offer.

Vintage 2011 was a welcome change from the previous two dry austere vintages. In fact 2011 was decidedly wet with awkward harvest conditions of regular rain and the grapes were slow to ripen. True to character our Pinot noir reacted differently in 2011.

in the cellar : Excellent small French oak barrel maturation contribution has assisted in achieving a super core strength to this wine.
