We’ve been building on our Gouws winemaking legacy in Stellenbosch for more than 150 years and have become one of the only families in South Africa that have been able to produce four consecutive generations of winemakers.

in the vineyard : South Easterly slope. Moderate summers with low night temperatures due to cool South-Easterly wind. Cold winters. Soil is shale with a well-drained gravel top soil. Altitude rests at 280m above sea level.

about the harvest: Sauvignon Blanc: Reductive style. Hand harvested in small baskets at optimum fruit ripeness. Cold fermented. 7 months on primary lees.
Semillon: Same as above except spent 7 months on new French oak

in the cellar : A showstopper. 65% Sauvignon,7 months on primary lees. Semillon,spent 7 months on new French oak.
