ageing : The De Waal Pinotage is drinking beautifully now but will mature for a further 5 - 8 years from vintage.

in the vineyard : This wine was produced from trellised vineyards situated on warmer north facing slopes. The soil type is Gravel & Loam. The vines are up to 30 years of age.

about the harvest: These vines produce 9 tons per hectare. The grapes were harvested on the 1st of March 2012.

in the cellar : The pressing of the grapes and the fermentation period takes 14 days. The wine is then aged in French barrels for 10 months.
