Bright red edge with a deep ruby centre. This balanced and structured wine shows aromas of black currant, fynbos/garrique, mint and chocolate. It has a lively palate with silky soft tannins, ripe fruit and mocha.

in the vineyard : Oakleaf soils, with drip irrigation delivering an average production of 7 tons/ha.

in the cellar : 

Wines underwent separate malolactic fermentation in 70% new French and 30% new American oak, with 6 months further maturation. The wines were then blended and underwent another 7 months of ageing in 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels.

All the components were fermented separately in stainless steel tanks at about 24 ºC, with a preceding cold soaking period of 5 days at 10ºC.
