Boschendal The Pavillion Shiraz Rosé 2014

The Shiraz grapes make this a wine that combines the fruitiness of a white wine with an attractive fullness on the palate of a light styled red wine. The nose is typified by fresh strawberries, juicy melon aromas and stone fruits. The palate has hints of red cherries and apricots.

The perfect pairing to a healthy picnic or fabulous on its own.

in the vineyard : Origin: Western Cape.
Viticulturist’s details: 100% Shiraz, the grapes come from vineyards in the Simonsberg-Paarl and Agter Paarl regions.

Vineyard management: All the vineyards were pruned to two bud spurs during July to August. Shoots were removed leaving only two to three per hand-spaced spur. During ripening
season the green bunches were removed to ensure even ripeness in the remaining bunches.

about the harvest: To get the colour just right for this wine, 100% of the grapes were hand-picked. In 2012 the grapes were harvested during the last week of February and first 10 days of March.

in the cellar : After crushing, the juice was drained immediately to ensure that the colour remains the precise red hue that we need and the palate retains the freshness of summer fruit.
