in the vineyard : The vines producing the grapes for the Perdeberg The Vineyard Collection Cinsault 2014 are 30 years old. The vineyards are planted in Malmesbury shale and are affected by cooling maritime breezes of both the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans. This means longer ripening time, this greater flavour. Being dry land vineyards, the berries are smaller and because of the higher skin to juice ratio the flavours are enhanced. The vineyard yielded an even handed 8 toms per hectare.
