Fijndraai Van Coller Shiraz Grenache Durif 2012

This wine is garnet in colour, with a deep ruby rim. Hints of red roses on the nose are followed by red berry fruits, a waft of hay, red currants and a suggestion of prunes.

The pallet is juicy, with fine elegant tannins. Complex flavours range from sweet, generous red fruits to the dried fruits of Christmas, from anise and fennel to gunpowder. The medium-bodied wine finishes with a whiff of black pepper.

Pair it with a grilled steak or a flavourful dish from the southern Mediterranean.
