Plush red cherry and exotic fruits, with touches of earthy clove spice. The palate has earthy, savory flavours along with delicate dry tannins and a soft freshness to carry the fruit.

Pairs very well with local venison complimented with elements of bacon, cloves and a stewed fruit chutney.

in the vineyard : Good long winter, but late rains and cold delaying pruning. Great windless conditions experienced for flowering resulted in a high yield vintage. February temperatures were extremely hot pushing ripening and this made for a quick harvest. Highest recorded tonnages for Waterford Estate. Whites challenging but the red wines have impressed.
