Event information
The first year’s funds were donated to the Predator
Ecology & Coexistence Experiment (PEACE). The PEACE project is located in
the Northern Cape and is in partnership with Woolworths and Conservation South
Africa (CSA). Working alongside the farming community, its long-term goal is to
explore ethical predator management in order to develop a supply chain of
‘wildlife friendly’ lamb for the consumer market.
This year funds raised will go towards sustaining The Cape Leopard
Trust operations, primarily paying airtime for satellite tracking collars, fuel
and financing the resumption of the Cederberg leopard research project.
Tickets are
already available for R1, 500 per person and further funds will be generated
through an auction on the day. All
proceeds will be donated to the Cape Leopard Trust.
Headline sponsors for the luncheon are Leopards Leap, First National
Bank, Fusion Global and Bridgestone.
