Dr. Paul Cluver, of Paul Cluver Wine, the pioneer of Elgin wine, has won the Lifetime Achievement award. This was announcement was made on Thursday, 11 February at the inaugural Drinks Business Green Awards ceremony at Canning House, London.
Dr. Cluver was shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement Award and Paul Cluver Wines was shortlisted for the Ethical Award.

"I am absolutely delighted. This award is well deserved. My father is an inspiration to our family and the cornerstone of Paul Cluver Wines. This is a just reward for what he has, and continues to unselfishly do for others," says Paul Cluver Jnr.

Dr Cluver was not able to accept the award in person due to burn injuries sustained fighting veld fires on New Year's Eve. He responded to the announcement saying, "so many people, have done so much more! Like Sue Birch, and Inge Kotze. While I am honoured by the recognition I have received, I do not feel like it has been hard work, but rather a privilege to do what I have done."
