Franschhoek Wine Valley
Calling all food and wine enthusiasts! Have you ever wanted to master the art of bread making, sushi or truffles, appreciate the art of pairing food and wine, or simply learn how to set a beautiful table?
Make your way to Franschhoek over the weekend of 10, 11 and 12 June for Cook Franschhoek, where local, well-known establishments will be offering visitors a range of themed activities, focussed on these elements.

Some of the Valley’s celebrity and award-winning chefs will be on hand to present these hands on demonstrations. These include the likes of Margot Janse of Le Quartier Français (who was placed 31st, in last year’s prestigious S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants), renowned foodie couple Neil and Tina Jewel of Bread & Wine at Môreson, who will be presenting an unforgettable bread making and charcuterie demonstration. Other offerings include demonstrations by The Salmon Bar, Freedom Hill, Holden Manz, Ryan’s Kitchen, Mange Tout, Franschhoek Country House and Villas, L’Ermitage, Huguenot Fine Chocolates, Le Franschhoek, Haute Cabrière, La Motte, Grande Provence and Café Bon Bon.

The participating restaurants will pair up with winemakers from the area to allow for a personal experience from the chef and winemaker. Participating wine estates include Môreson, Franschhoek Pass Winery, La Motte, Grande Provence, Cabrière, Haut Espoir, Anthonij Rupert Wines and Mont Rochelle. In order to keep the weekend as exclusive as possible each demonstration will range from 8 to 30 people and costs will differ from establishment to establishment. Tickets can be purchased directly from www.webtickets.co.za.

Encouraging visitors to make a weekend of their experience, Franschhoek offers visitors superb accommodation ranging from the finest bed and breakfasts, to luxurious boutique hotels, all nestling in a picturesque and safe environment. This should also allow you ample time for a leisurely stroll down the main road, uncovering world-class shops and boutiques, allowing for an intimate and relaxed shopping expedition.

Be sure to include the recently launched Franschhoek Wine Valley Food & Wine Route as part of your weekend of discovery. This exciting initiative allows visitors to tailor make their trips, taking the concept of a food and wine experience to an entirely new level.
