Introducing the new “Premium Exclusive” Collection from Mellasat Vineyards

On Sunday 24th November saw the release of two new wines to our range with new innovative laser cut labels. Released under our new “Premium Exclusive” Collection club members had the privilege to be the first to experience these two wines and their labels. Both of the wines received many compliments and were a real hit with our members.

Our new barrel fermented Mellasat Viognier 2012 is wonderfully characteristic of this Rhone variety and exudes peaches and apricots with a creamy texture. As much of the volume has already been sold en-primeur to the European trade we have very limited stock available which has been reserved for club members only on a quota basis, there will be no public sales of this vintage! The good news is that the 2013 vintage is likely to be released early in the new year to compensate for this.

Also on the same day our first Mellasat Tempranillo/Cabernet Sauvignon was released from the 2011 vintage. Matured in barrel for 18 months then in bottle for 12 months this is a well balanced red made from this Spanish grape variety. Cherry and blackberry highlight the flavours in this distinct wine but with sufficient tannin structure to enable this wine to age gracefully.

Keep in touch via our website , like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter. Our tasting room is open seven days a week: Monday - Saturday 09h30 to 17h30, Sun & Public holidays 10h00 to 16h00. Tel: +27.218624525
