Our new barrel
fermented Mellasat Viognier 2012 is
wonderfully characteristic of this Rhone
variety and exudes peaches and apricots with a creamy texture. As much of the
volume has already been sold en-primeur to the European trade we have very
limited stock available which has been reserved for club members only on a
quota basis, there will be no public sales of this vintage! The good news is
that the 2013 vintage is likely to
be released early in the new year to compensate for this.
Also on the same day our first Mellasat Tempranillo/Cabernet Sauvignon was released from the 2011 vintage. Matured in barrel for 18
months then in bottle for 12 months this is a well balanced red made from this
Spanish grape variety. Cherry and blackberry highlight the flavours in this
distinct wine but with sufficient tannin structure to enable this wine to age
gracefully.
