No festival setting can be more picturesque than that of this year’s Funky Fynbos Festival held in the fishing town of Gansbaai in the Cape’s Elim District from 12 - 14 September. Over the course of a weekend, visitors will be able not only to indulge in local food and wine, but also to enjoy adventure activities suitable for the whole family.
From foodie meanders to trail runs, mountain biking, freshwater fishing and a 4x4 route, the weekend will cater for all tastes and energy levels!!

Set in the Uilenkraal River Valley just a few kilometres from Gansbaai, Lomond Wine Estate will offer several of its own activities for festival-goers visiting the farm!!

Known foremost for producing excellent Sauvignon Blanc, the estate will host wine tastings throughout the weekend. Wine will also be on sale directly from the farm’s Wine Shop!!

For anglers, the highlight of the weekend will cast off on Saturday morning at the Lomond dam, where a freshwater fishing competition will get underway at 08h30. Participants will be transported to optimal fishing spots around the 110ha dam by water-taxi!!

Those not fishing will be able to enjoy the festivities taking place alongside the dam. These will include live music, craft beer and gourmet boerewors rolls by Die Worsrol. Well-known Chef Craig Cormack will also be tantalising taste buds with his mouth-watering creations!!

The Funky Fynbos Festival will run from 10h00 - 18h00 on Saturday (with the angling competition taking place from 08h30 - 15h30) and from 10h00 - 16h00 on Sunday.! !
