“When planning our activities for Heritage Month, we thought of a few iconic South African items and Pinotage, Biltong and Protea’s came to mind. The beautiful Protea and Fynbos décor on the new tasting room tables, took care of that element, but the other local is lekker items still had to be obtained!” explains marketing consultant Cobie van Oort. “We contacted our good friends at Joubert and Monty who produce interestingly flavoured high-quality biltong and winemaker Jan van Rooyen was quick to join in a tasting of red wines and spiced biltong, which led to our wine and biltong tasting experience this month,” she says. Visitors are invited to taste the Estate’s Dominion Royale Shiraz Reserve, the Minelli Pinot Noir Reserve and the Estate Pinotage with three biltong flavours @ R50 per tasting.
