It was smiles all around for the Boschendal winemaking team who earned a coveted Double Gold medal for their Sauvignon Blanc Grande Cuvée 2015 at the recent 2015 Veritas Awards.
Not stopping there the historic wine farm, situated in the heart of the Franschhoek Wine Valley was also awarded a Gold medal for the Boschendal Appelation Series Elgin Pinot Noir 2013.

The awards were announced at a gala dinner, attended by the who’s who in the industry, which took place earlier this month at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. A total of 1 763 medal contenders were rated by a highly experience panel of international judges, joined by local wine specialists. For this year’s competition, eight international judges joined the line-up representing various countries.

Joining Boschendal on the winners’ podium the following Franschhoek producers were each awarded Gold medals:

= Allée Bleue (Allée Bleue Chenin Blanc 2014)

= La Bri (La Bri Chardonnay 2014)

= Noble Hill (Noble Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2011)

The Veritas Awards is the longest running and most prestigious wine competition in South Africa, and is synonymous with excellence in wine. It is the only wine competition in the country for the industry by the industry.

These recent accolades are a true reflection of the world class wines to emerge from the Franschhoek Wine Valley.
