Our 2016 harvest began on the 8th of January, the very same day as last year, following the trend of an early start to the season. With the Cape Town heat wave, we have kept a close eye on the sugar level of the grapes as these can rise rapidly. Luckily our cooler climate has kept the harsh affects of the heat at bay.
The first grapes to arrive was our Chardonnay from Robertson which makes up our 1682 Chardonnay MCC. On the 18th of January, we began hand-harvesting our own Sauvignon Blanc destined for our Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc. To date, we have received over 300 tonnes of grapes.
