Bouchard Finlayson
Artists are invited to submit their entries, under this year’s theme ‘Terroir’. The works of 40 finalists will be exhibited in Bouchard Finlayson’s wine cellar, where they will also be available for sale for the duration of the Hermanus FynArts festival (10 – 19 June 2016) and up until November 2016. Visitors will be able to view the tondi displayed on the heads of barrels newly filled with wines pressed from grapes harvested in late February and March, while also tasting some of Bouchard Finlayson’s iconic vintages.
The winner will be decided by an esteemed panel of judges (details still tbc), with the winning barrel head art receiving R20 000 during a prize-giving ceremony on Friday 10 June. A second prize of R10 000 and two merit awards of R5 000 each also up for grabs.
Bouchard Finlayson will also play host to an exclusive half-day Flash and Strobism Photography Workshop on Saturday 18 June from 10:00 – 13:00, available to book at R300 per person. Aimed at slightly more advanced photographers, the course will be led by one of Africa’s leading Architect Photographers, Peter Hassall, who is also the National President of the SAPP (South African Professional Photographers).
