From the start of September wine.co.za has three Dutch Interns on board. One of these interns, Brigitte Oosterhuis will give a regular update of their experiences at wine.co.za. See her first impressions below... Enjoy!

And here we are… Three young students from different universities in the Netherlands. We left our safe harbour to step up our new adventure in Cape Town. Before we left, we had absolutely no idea what to expect. Tim is an international business and languages student, Hielke is studying Facility management, and I am studying communication. We were hoping that we could be an added value for wine.co.za, while we are enjoying our African adventure.

Now we are settled in the beautiful city of Cape Town and are part of wine.co.za’s team. We had a warm welcome at the office, we met the team and last but not least we have our own desks! We have got so many impressions the first week and we had such a lovely week, and luckily, we have still much to do. We are involved in all processes and we all have our own tasks, which are associated with our studies. We are very happy that we got the opportunity to do our internship at wine.co.za. They made us feel at home already.

Besides work, we also had our first African braai at the office. We had a delicious dinner with “boerewors” and “koeksisters” and we tasted some delicious South African wines. My 21st birthday was on the 6th of September and we celebrated it at work. The team did not forget about me. They set up party banners, balloons and we had bubbly all together at the lunch. To my surprise, they gave me some very nice presents. Also, we had our first glass of Cap Classique. I couldn’t wish for a better day.

We are looking forward to the coming months!

Regards

Brigitte Oosterhuis, Dutch Intern at Wine.co.za
