Avontuur Estate
Avontuur Estate winemaker Jan van Rooyen and the Estate’s Tasting Room team are planning a trio of “Tutored Tastings” for the winter months. This is an opportunity for wine lovers to interact with a senior winemaker about their questions about wine, winemaking and the industry in general.

The series kicks off on Saturday, 10 June from 11h00 - 12h30 with a tasting featuring the range of Avontuur wines which won awards at the recent National Wine Challenge. This will give participants the chance to chat to Jan about wine competitions, the different judging processes, their worth, what it means to a winemaker and a winery to win awards and any other questions they’ve always wanted to ask about the “bling” industry.

Saturday, 8 July and Saturday 12 August are the dates set for the following two events. The themes will be confirmed closer to the time as Jan likes to see what is topical in the industry.

Each tasting is limited to 20 participants and includes the tasting, a light meal and a glass of wine for only R100 pp. Bookings are essential and can be made in the tasting room with Ella or Marcelle, by phoning the Estate at +27.218553450 or by emailing winery@avontuurestate.co.za.

We look forward to sharing some valuable info with you this winter and have fun whilst doing it!
