It’s really summer in the winelands now, and we’re all enjoying chilled wines outdoors with friends and family. At Avontuur we’re launching new wines on an ongoing basis at the moment, so keep an eye open for the the natural sweet Above Royalty Viognier 2017, the Dominion Royale Shiraz Reserve 2014 and the soon-to-be released Baccarat, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir/Chardonnay 2017. Walk & Wine Combo - A winner
Treat yourself to a Farm Walk at Avontuur Estate with fantastic views over the green paddocks filled with race horses, foals and False Bay and Table Mountain visible in the distance. End off the visit in the tasting room with a sweet treat of note when you pair 5 wines with Basilei’s artisanal Nougat/ Fudge creations. The walk and pairing is self-guided with assistance from our tasting room staff, and costs R100 pp. Bookings are not needed for individuals and small groups, but for 6+ guests it’s recommended that you book beforehand to ensure the smooth running of your visit. The Big "O" is Back
After more than a month of nursing and quality care from our dedicated team of vets, farriers and our own staff and tons of goodwill from all over the industry, it’s with great pleasure that we announce the return to limited service of our globally rated sire, Oratorio. “We had incredible support from the owners, the consortium and all of our many loyal friends across the spectrum, and after a tough period, it’s wonderful to see him back in action,” says GM Pippa Mickleburgh. “We believe that over time he will return to top form and even with limited covers lined up, it’s a huge relief to have the expectation of some of his quality offspring in the 2018 season.” For more about Oratorio’s recovery visit our website.
Last Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club has had a wonderful year with ongoing growth and inspirational speakers. On Wednesday, 8/11 the last one for the year will feature Chris van Rooyen with his topic: “What you don’t know about Success”. Investment: R150 pp.
Dinner Opening Times
From 8 November we will be open for a-la-carte dining on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights! Join us outside on the terrace and watch the sun set over a glass of bubbly, or inside in the cosy restaurant if the weather is a bit chilly
