South African wines sizzle with seekh kebabs

Wine and food matches are waiting to be discovered all over the world. All you need to make them work is a generous hostess, an open mind and some great wines. Sourish Bhattacharyya reports on a South African evening WOSA Andre Morgenthal in New Delhi.
Our opening wine, a young but harmoniously balanced Chenin Blanc 2005 from Ken Forrester of Helderberg, Stellenbosch, which came as a revelation after our experience with those sherbet-like offerings from Nashik's grape growers. It matched beautifully with the succulent seekh kebabs. The fruit-acid balance and pronounced honey and apricot tones seemed to have been created in heaven for North Indian kebabs. Read on
