Waverley Hills Shiraz 2005

Intense purple centre with pink rim describes the youthfulness of the wine. Black cherry and sweet plum aromas denote its fruitiness which is rounded off by the smoky and spicy notes of French oak. Subtle aromas of fynbos (Cape indigenous flora), like wild rosemary and pincushions are reminiscent of the farm. On the palate the wine has a soft entry with spicy notes of white pepper and cinnamon rounded off by black salt drop on the aftertaste.

Very adaptable, the wine can be enjoyed at a light lunch or compliment a hearty lunch or dinner.

about the harvest: Grapes are left on the vines to fully ripen before being handpicked and sorted. The harvest was trouble-free and produced healthy grapes. Bunches that were still green at 80% veraison were marked with white clips to keep them separate from quality grapes.
