Delaire Graff Chenin Blanc 2011

Light golden wheat colour. Delicious expressions of citrus fruit with subtle layers of honey and almonds in the background. Balanced and superbly structured, flavours are complimented by a delicate minerality, which ensures a long lingering finish.

in the vineyard : The 2011 conditions, as challenging as they were, resulted in healthy grapes with great grape flavour and analysis. Winemakers are more than satisfied with the quality of the grapes that were harvested, even though the yields were down.

about the harvest: Grapes were handpicked in the fresh hours of the early morning from  30 year old single vineyard Swartland bush vines.

in the cellar : Extensive bunch sorting formed part of the quality management process. The grapes were whole bunch pressed with no sulphur added and barrel fermented at 17° C for 20 days. 50% natural ferment.

Maturation took place in 400ml French barrels for 10months.
