Lothian Vineyards Pinot Noir 2012

The 2012 Pinot Noir has a higher pH than the 2011 and was matured in less new oak than the previous year. It has a lighter, more refined bouquet with bright red cherries, fresh strawberry and just a touch more pinote than the 2011, which feels a little more worked. It has wonderful definition. The palate is fresh and vibrant, much more feminine than the 2011 with fine tannins, bright red cherry and fresh strawberry fruit and a very pretty finish. It needs a little more persistency, but otherwise this is very commendable Pinot Noir worth seeking out.
