The name Terrace Bay is derived from the terrace bed rich in maritime fossils, minerals and salts, formed millions of years ago and deposited by the receding sea where the present day farm is. Excellent bright lively colour.Plum cake, spicy with sweet oak on the nose. Dense plum fruit and good oak vanilla flavours. Good balance. Nice spicy, savoury finish.

about the harvest: The grapes were harvested fom the 21/01/2000 – 21/03/2000 at 23.4 – 25.2º Balling.

in the cellar : The wine is a blend of 29% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Shiraz and 21% Cabernet Franc.
Maturation: 22 months in the following barrels:
54% New French 225 liter barrels
14% New American 225 liter barrels
25% 2nd Fill French 225 liter barrels
7% 2nd Fill Russian 225 liter barrels
