Diemersfontein Summer's Lease 2008

Sweet cherries and violets on the nose complimented by cinnamon, cloves and white pepper. Sweet plum, spice and full bodied on the palate with a good length balanced with fine grained tannin finish.

This wine will compliment strongly flavoured game dishes and rich lamb roasts.

in the vineyard : A combination of different terroirs.

about the harvest: Harvested at optimum ripeness in February 2008. 

in the cellar : The grapes were vinified separately. The different varieties were matured separately in a combination of French and American oak barrels for almost 10 months after which it was carefully blended (it took a couple of weeks to determine the perfect balance between the different identities of the different varieties!), stabilized and bottled.
