Diemersfontein Summer's Lease 2011

Sweet cherries, plum and spicy notes on the nose with hints of vanilla on the palate, followed by supple, juicy tannin adding good length.

This wine will complement strongly flavoured game dishes and rich lamb roasts.

in the vineyard : A combination of different terroirs.

about the harvest: Harvested at optimum ripeness in February 2011. 

in the cellar : The grapes were vinified separately. The different varietals were matured separately in a combination of 3rd and 4th fill French and American oak barrels for 12 months after which it was carefully blended (it took a couple of weeks to determine the perfect balance between the different identities of the different varietals!), stabilized and bottled.
